Beef heart, infusion from..........................................................500.0g
Proteose peptone.........................................................................10.0g
Gelatin.........................................................................................10.0g
Agar ..............................................................................................7.5g
Casein, purified.............................................................................5.0g
Na2HPO4 .......................................................................................4.0g
Sodium citrate...............................................................................3.0g
Glucose .........................................................................................0.5g
pH 7.50 ± 0.2 at 25°C
Preparation of Medium: Add components to distilled/deionized
water and bring volume to 1.0L. Mix thoroughly. Autoclave for 15 min
at 15 psi pressure–121°C.
Use: For the maintenance of cultures of streptococci and other micro-
organisms.
