Composition per liter:

Peptic digest of animal tissue...................................4.0g
Calcium caseinate................................................3.5g
Meat extract ....................................................2.0g
Casein enzymic hydrolysate ......................................2.0g
CaCl2 ·2H2O ....................................................0.2g
Tri-potassium citrate...........................................0.35g
Na2HPO4 .......................................................0.105g
KH2PO4 ........................................................0.035g
NaCl.............................................................5.0g
pH 7.0 ± 0.2 at 25°C

Preparation of Medium: Add components to distilled/deionized
water and bring volume to 1.0L. Mix thoroughly. Distribute into tubes
or flasks. Gently heat and bring to boiling. Boil for 10 min. Autoclave
for 15 min at 15 psi pressure–121°C. Mix thoroughly while pouring
into Petri dishes.
Use: For the detection and enumeration of proteolytic microorganisms
in foodstuffs and other materials.
