Mucate Control Broth
Bromthymol Blue .....................................................................0.024g
pH 7.4 ± 0.1 at 25°C
Preparation of Medium: Add components to distilled/deionized
water and bring volume to 1.0L. Mix thoroughly. Distribute into screw-
capped tubes in 5.0mL volumes. Autoclave for 10 min at 15 psi pres-
sure–121°C.
Use: For the isolation and cultivation of enterovirulent Escherichia
coli and Shigella species.
