Composition per liter:

Neopeptone ................................................................................. 20.0g

Glucose ......................................................................................... 2.0g

NaHCO3 ........................................................................................ 2.0g

NaCl .............................................................................................. 2.0g

Na2HPO4 ....................................................................................... 0.4g

Beef heart infusion........................................................................1.0L

pH 7.8 ± 0.2 at 25°C

Preparation of Medium: Add components to distilled/deionized

water and bring volume to 1.0L. Mix thoroughly. Distribute into tubes

or flasks. Autoclave for 10 min at 10 psi pressure–115°C.

Use: For the cultivation of streptococci for serological identification.
