Composition per liter:

Peptone..............................................................10.0g

NaCl....................................................................5.0g

pH 9.0 ± 0.2 at 25°C

Preparation of Medium: Add components to

distilled/deionized water and bring volume to 1.0L.

Mix thoroughly. Adjust pH to 9.0. Distribute into

tubes or flasks. Autoclave for 20 min at 15 psi pres

sure–121°C.

Use: For the cultivation of a variety of alkalophilic

microorganisms, especially Vibrio species.
