Composition per liter:

NaCl..................................................................65.0g

Enzymatic digest of animal tissue ....................10.0g

Heart digest.......................................................10.0g

Glucose ...............................................................1.0g

Bromcresol Purple ..........................................0.016g

pH 7.2 ± 0.2 at 25°C

Diagnostic Systems.

Preparation of Medium: Add components to

distilled/deionized water and bring volume to 1.0L.

Mix thoroughly. Distribute into tubes or flasks. Auto

clave for 15 min at 15 psi pressure–121°C.

Use: For the cultivation and differentiation of the en

terococcal group D streptococci from nonenterococ

cal group D streptococci based on salt tolerance.
