Brain Heart Infusion Casein Starch

Composition per liter:
Pancreatic digest of gelatin.................................14.5g
Casein hydrolysate...........................................10.0g
Brain heart, solids from infusion.............................6.0g
Peptic digest of animal tissue ...............................6.0g
NaCl..........................................................5.0g
Glucose.......................................................3.0g
Na2HPO4 ......................................................2.5g
Soluble starch................................................1.0g
pH 7.4 ± 0.2 at 25°C
Preparation of Medium:  Add components to distilled/deionized
water and bring volume to 1.0L. Mix thoroughly. Distribute into tubes
or flasks. Autoclave for 15 min at 15 psi pressure–121°C.
Use:  For the cultivation of Actinomyces odontolyticus.
