Composition per liter:

NaCl............................................................................................30.0g
Na-glycerol phosphate................................................................23.5g
Tryptone........................................................................................5.0g
KH 2 PO 4 .........................................................................................3.0g
Yeast extract..................................................................................2.5g
CaCO 3 ..........................................................................................1.0g
NH 4 Cl ...........................................................................................0.3g
Mg 2 SO 4 ........................................................................................0.3g
FeCl 2 ...........................................................................................0.01g
pH 7.0 ± 0.2 at 25°C
Preparation of Medium:  Add components to distilled/deionized
water and bring volume to 1.0L. Mix thoroughly. Adjust pH to 7.0.
Distribute into tubes or flasks. Autoclave for 15 min at 15 psi pressure–
121°C.
Use: For the cultivation of Shewanella hanedai=Alteromonas hane-
dai.
