Composition per liter:

CaCO3 ......................................................................................... 20.0g

K2S4O6........................................................................................ 20.0g

Plant peptone................................................................................. 8.6g

Synthetic detergent No. II............................................................. 8.0g

NaCl .............................................................................................. 6.4g

Brilliant Green ............................................................................ 0.07g

pH 7.0 ± 0.2 at 25°C

Source: This medium is available as a premixed powder from Hi

Media.

Preparation of Medium: Add components to distilled/deionized

water and bring volume to 1.0L. Mix thoroughly. Gently heat and bring

to boiling. A slight precipitate will remain. Do not autoclave. Cool to

25°C. Store at 4°C.

Use: For the enrichment and isolation of salmonellae.
