Composition per liter:

Na2HPO4 ...........................................................5.79g

NaH2PO4 ...........................................................3.53g

Neutral Red.......................................................0.02g

Tween 80......................................................... 5.0mL

pH 7.0 ± 0.2 at 25°C

Preparation of Medium: Add components to

distilled/deionized water and bring volume to 1.0L.

Mix thoroughly. Distribute into tubes or flasks. Auto

clave for 15 min at 15 psi pressure–121°C.

Use: For the differentiation of Mycobacterium spe

cies. Strains that hydrolyze Tween 80 within 5 days

turn the medium pink to red.
